Sumptuous Finnish Food
Recently, Helsinki and Finland present themselves on the global culinary map as original recipes incorporate new flavours and ingredients to reinvent tradition. Throughout the years, Finnish cuisine has become lighter with smaller dishes that are rich in vegetables. However, meat is still a large part of the overall diet, as well as milk. Every tourist should try the traditional Finnish food, which is similar to German, Russian, and Swedish dishes.

Finnish salmon cuisine
Potato is a staple food in this country. Mammi is a traditional dessert that is usually enjoyed on Easter. It is made of pudding that consists of rye flour, rye malt, dark molasses, dried orange peels, water, and salt. In the northern Lapland region, sautéed reindeer is most commonly seen on their menu. Reindeer steaks are fried in butter or oil or reindeer fat and seasoned with salt and pepper with a bit of beer to the frying pan. Although many do not fully understand or appreciate the cuisine in Finland, it is unarguably interesting and varied making it utterly inviting to the fatigued soul.
