Savonlinna is unarguably the most charming setting for the widely known summer opera festival with the world’s largest smoke sauna at Kuopio. The Karelia region also has an untouched wilderness, in addition to its pristine waters with traditions originating from the Russian Orthodox history. Kajaani offers super-exciting activities like bear watching safaris, fly-fishing, quad biking and cross country skiing. This side of Finland is a winter wonderland splendid for all conceivable winter activity.
